During one of his journeys, when a robber wanted to kill him, the divine power in Nanak forced the robber to have a change of heart. Drawing on the oral history that was preserved about his life, they consist largely of stories about incidents in his life, interspersed with hymns he composed.Įven as a child Nanak was endowed with divine powers, and many miracles done by him have been narrated by his followers.
